Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.

Stateside actor Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a statement.

They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

A Life in Improv

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was involved with a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.

The actor is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
