Iran Claims Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.
Additional Developments
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
